Ludhiana, February 18

The BSNL Employees Union held a protest at the BSNL office near Bharat Nagar Chowk today.

The protesting employees raised slogans against the Central Government for failing to meet their various long pending demands.

While addressing the union members, Avtar Singh Jhande of BSNL Employees Union said the Central Government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has failed to provide relief to employees, labourers and common people during its four and a half year tenure.

“The government has been making efforts to hand over public sector organisations to private players to benefit certain businessmen. The public sector has been facing loses due to wrong policies of the government. The survival of public sector organisations, including the BSNL has also become difficult due to wrong policies of the Union Government,” he said.

The union leaders also criticised the government for not allocating 4G spectrum to the BSNL.

“The Union Government has failed to meet various long pending demands of the BSNL employees. If the government fails to fulfill our demands in near future, we will further sharpen our protests, said union member Balbir Singh.
