Ludhiana, February 11

Reacting against MP Ravneet Singh Bittu’s statement that the Central Government was responsible for the delay in the reconstruction of the Jagraon bridge, BJP leader Parminder Mehta asked if the MP was ready to lock the Municipal Corporation and district administration offices as these were in a financial mess.

He said earlier, Bittu, during the regime of the SAD-BJP government, had tried to put locks at the MC office as it was financially weak, but was he now ready to repeat the same move as the condition of the MC had turn from bad to worse.

He said a tall claim was made by the MP that within a year, the repair work of the Jagraon bridge would be started. However, the ruling government has done no good to provide relief to the residents of Ludhiana from unsafe bridge and traffic snarls.

Mehta said Bittu put the entire blame on the Central Government for the messy condition of Jagraon bridge, but who was responsible for potholes across the city?

Be it posh areas or the old city, the roads are in a shambles. “Is the Central Government responsible for all this? He should start accepting the reality and stop putting blame of their own failures (Congress) on others,” said Mehta.

“Bittu had gone to clean the city buses, which were lying defunct. It has been two years since the Congress came to power in the state but what is the status of city buses today?” asked Mehta.
