Ludhiana, June 23

A delegation of the United Cycle and Parts Manufacturers Association (UCPMA) met the Punjab Cabinet Minister for Industry and Commerce, Sunder Sham Arora, at Hoshiarpur on Saturday.

Member of the delegation discussed various problems faced by bicycle industries, including VAT refund, issues to be taken up with the PSPCL and E-way bill among others.

Inderjit Singh Navyug, president of the UCPMA, focused on the PSPCL-related problems faced by the industry in the meeting with the minister.

Industrialists complained that they were suffering as VAT refunds were not being cleared by the state government and there was liquid cash-crunch all over.

Arora assured the delegation that by the end of June 2018, Rs 200 crore would be released by the government. The minister said a meeting would be arranged between officials and industrialists so that problems of the latter could be discussed and appropriate solutions found.
