Ludhiana, April 24

The All-India Punjab National Bank Officers’ Association and All-India Punjab National Bank Employees Federation held a demonstration at the all-India level in front of zonal offices to protest against policies of the management.

The main issues include withdrawal of facility of compassionate transfer of female employees on the family way; change of period city of compassionate transfers (half yearly); instructions to top officials not to forward such applications, thus diluting the idea of compassion; non-recruitment of staff in the bank in consecutive years ignoring even the genuine business needs; no compassionate appointments in bank; downgrading multitude of branches through re-categorisation of branches; and reducing staff strength further. — TNS
