Prince, Priyanka to lead Punjab teams

LUDHIANA: Prince Pal Singh, a trainee of the Ludhiana Basketball Academy, and Priyanka from Amritsar have been selected to lead the Punjab boys and girls teams, respectively, in the 70th Junior National Basketball Championship scheduled to be held from October 17 to 24 at Patna in Bihar.

Prince Pal Singh, a trainee of the Ludhiana Basketball Academy, and Priyanka from Amritsar have been selected to lead the Punjab boys and girls teams, respectively, in the 70th Junior National Basketball Championship scheduled to be held from October 17 to 24 at Patna in Bihar.

The players and officials, accompanying the teams were given a warm send off here today.

Teja Singh Dhaliwal, honorary general secretary of the Punjab Basketball Association, and others wished them good luck as the teams assembled at Guru Nanak Stadium prior to their departure for Patna.

Teams

Boys: Prince Pal Singh (captain), Arvinder Singh, Armaan Singh, Akashdeep Sharma, Rajan, Harshpal Singh, Navkarman Singh, Arjun, Mannatpreet Singh, Vishavjeet Singh, Charanpreet Singh and Manjot Singh. Rajinder Singh and Jaspal Singh have been appointed coaches of the squad.

Girls: Priyanka (captain), Sabpreet Kaur, Sarabjeet Kaur, Sukhmandeep Kaur, Jashanpreet Kaur, Shikha, Radha, Preeti, Sapna, Kavya, Harsimran Kaur and Mankeerat. Devinder Pal Singh Dhindsa and Saloni will accompany the contingent as coaches.
