6 trains cancelled, four rescheduled

LUDHIANA: There seems to be no respite for rail passengers, who are facing persistent harassment due to cancellation, rescheduling and late running of most long-route trains in the region.

There seems to be no respite for rail passengers, who are facing persistent harassment due to cancellation, rescheduling and late running of most long-route trains in the region.

Passengers travelling between Delhi and various destinations in Punjab also suffered inconvenience due to two pairs of intercity express trains remaining non-operational and one pair of 12497/98 New Delhi-Aritsr-New Delhi Shane-Punjab running behind schedule by an hour or so.

Railway officials said 12332 Jammu-Howrah Express, 12459/60 New Delhi-Amritsar-New Delhi Intercity Express, 13050 Amritsar-Howrah Express and 14681/82 New Delhi-Jalandhar-New Delhi Express were cancelled.

Four trains rescheduled for late departure were Saharsa-Amtritsar Grib Rath (1 hr), Jammu-Durg Suerfast Express (3.30 hrs), Jaynagar-Amritsar Shaheed Express (2.15 hrs) and 15210 Saharsa-Amritsar Jansewa Express.

Trains running late

(11 to 14 hrs) : 18101 Tatanagar-Jammu Muri Express, 15210 Amritsar-Saharsa Jansewa Express.

(5 to 7 hrs) : 12413 Ajmer-Jammu Pooja Superfast Express, 15707 Katihar-Amritsar Amrapali Express.

(3 to 5 hrs): 12550 Jammu-Durg Superfast Express, 12407 Newjalpaiguri-Amritsar Karambhoomi Express, 14673 Jaynagar-Amritsar Shaheed Express, 12317 Kolkata-Amritsar Akaltakht Express, 12414 Jammu-Ajmer Pooja Superfast Express.

(1 to 3 hrs) : 12238 Jammu-Varanasi Begumpura Express, 15211 Darbhanga-Amritsar Jannayak Express, 12919 Indore-Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Malwa Express, 12925 Bandra Terminus (Mumbai)-Amritsar Pashchim Express, 11057 CST (Mumbai)-Amritsar Express, 18215 Durg-Jammu Express, 15209 Saharsa-Amritsar Jansewa Express.
