3 vehicles collide, truck driver killed

A truck driver was killed on the spot while that of a PRTS bus was injured when three vehicles collided near Rajgarh village here this morning. The accident reportedly happened when the driver of a container carrier applied sudden brakes.

The deceased has been identified as Chote Lal of Haryana and the bus driver as Harpreeet Singh of Patiala. The container carrier, which was coming from the Ludhiana side, applied sudden brakes. The truck and the bus following it collided one after another. The truck driver died on the spot and the bus driver suffered minor injuries. However, the passengers escaped unhurt.

The police have registered a case on a statement of truck driver Karamvir Singh, who was around when the accident happened. The container carrier driver fled the spot.

Chote Lal’s body was sent for post-mortem.
