20% cops battling with hypertension in Khanna

KHANNA: Nearly 20 per cent of police officials and police personal of District Khanna were found to be affected with hypertension during a medical checkup camp organised by the Khanna police.

Nearly 20 per cent of police officials and police personal of District Khanna were found to be affected with hypertension during a medical checkup camp organised by the Khanna police.

According to the Khanna SSP, NS Mahal, this camp was organised to check the health of policemen who had to work under stress round the clock and to provide proper medicines for their health.

Dr Karamjit Singh, MD , Dr Amarveer Singh, MD, Dr Ashar Singh MD(eye specialist) and other doctors checked around 450 policemen in the camp.

As per information, about 20 per cent police personal were found affected with hypertension while 10 per cent were found affected with eye problems apart from some other diseases.

Khanna SSP said about 50 per cent police personal were found fit during this camp. DSP (Headquarters) Khanna, Vikas Sabharwal, said, a yoga camp will be organised soon for all police personal to maintain good health and to escape from diseases.

The SSP further said around 1,000 police personal of Khanna district will be checked under this drive and such camps will be organised at sub-division level in the coming days.
