LUDHIANA:Two fire incidents were reported in the city on Sunday.

Ludhiana, July 15

Two fire incidents were reported in the city on Sunday. Both incidents occured at the same time at different places due to which fire officials remained on toes.

First incident took place in the godown of a hosiery, Shalu Knitware, on Tajpur Road. Due to potholes on the roads, the firemen faced huge inconvenience while dousing the flames. The fire had engulfed the entire godown where a huge stock of cardboards was lying. It took the firemen three hours to completely douse the flames.

Second incident took place in Subash Nagar, Basti Jodhewal, in the evening where the multistorey building of Rashmi Fabrics caught fire. The fire had engulfed the first and second floors of the factory while the ground floor was safe. The firemen were struggling to douse the flames at the buildiing when the reports last came in.

According to sources, loss caused by both fires runs into lakhs. — TNS
