An 18-year-old boy allegedly died of drug overdose at Lakhowal village yesterday. A case has been registered against a person of the same village on a statement of the victim’s brother.

Gopi Kumar, son of Krishan Pal of Lakhowal village, was a drug addict. On Saturday morning, he was allegedly called by Varinder Singh, alias Captain, of the same village. After an hour or so, the wife of the complainant noticed Gopi lying unconscious on the stubble belonging to a family residing next to their house. She informed her husband, Sandeep Kumar, who rushed Gopi to a hospital at Kohara. The doctor declared him dead on arrival.

Sandeep has alleged that Varinder gave his brother an overdose of drugs due to which he died. A case under Section 304 of the IPC has been registered against the suspect at the Koom Kalan police station.
