100 surgeons attend Ilizarov deformity correction course

As a part of the ongoing celebrations of 125 years of Christian Medical College (CMC), the Department of Orthopaedics today organised a one-day CME on (Continuing Medical Education), “Ilizarov deformity correction course”.

Dr Qin Sihe, President of Association for the Study and Application of the Method of Ilizarov (ASAMI), China, along with Dr Xang Jian Cheng and Dr Zhong Wei were the chief guests for the programme.

Dr William Bhatti, Director of CMC, Dr Jeyaraj Pandian, Principal and Dr Anil Luther, medical superintendent also addressed the gathering and welcomed all the speakers and guests. The event was attended by over 100 orthopaedic surgeons from the state and across the country.

The CME course comprised of understanding various techniques and principles of deformity corrections in the musculoskeletal system of our body and ended with a workshop and session with the chief guests.

Dr Rajesh Paul, Head of Orthopaedic Department, CMC Hospital, emphasised on the need for corrections of such deformities to improve the quality of life and health of the patients across Punjab and the country. — TNS
