The police have seized a huge quantity of illicit liquor and arrested two persons who were ferrying it in a truck.

Khanna SSP Dhruv Dahia said a police party, led by Doraha SHO Hardeep Singh, laid a naka at Doraha. They signalled a truck coming from the Khanna side to stop. Its checking yielded 1,050 cartons of illicit liquor of various brands. The police arrested truck driver Ravinder Singh, a resident of Ludhiana, and Kamalpreet Singh who was travelling in the vehicle.

The suspects brought the liquor from Ambala and were to deliver it at Harike, near Amritsar. — OC
