1,000 take part in mini marathon to promote health

LUDHIANA: Around 1,000 persons, ranging from kids to veterans, including prominent industrialists of the city, students, professionals and regular athletes took part in the inaugural edition of the Hampton Homes Mini Marathon held here on Sunday.

Around 1,000 persons, ranging from kids to veterans, including prominent industrialists of the city, students, professionals and regular athletes took part in the inaugural edition of the Hampton Homes Mini Marathon held here on Sunday.

Pradeep Kumar Agrawal, Deputy Commissioner, Ludhiana flagged off the marathon. He also took part in the run. The event was organised to encourage the Ludhianvis to lead a healthy life with the motto ‘Fight for Fitness’. Participants were administered an oath to work for a healthy society.

Gursewak Singh from Faridkot finished ahead of others and was declared the winner. He received a cash prize of Rs 50,000 while Udit Vaid from Rajpura was the first runner-up to get cash prize of Rs 30,000 and Shamsher at third place got a cash prize of Rs 10,000. — OC
