While on one hand, most of the Punjabi films are not clicking at the box office, out of the box concepts are getting a thumbs- up from the audience.

This week’s release, Bhajjo Veero Ve is a film with an interesting concept and well-written dialogues along with subtle comedy and fine acting by the entire cast.

But despite a fine concept, director Amberdeep Singh could not bind the subject well. It comes across as a film shot in haste. The film has a decent pace, but it lacks punch. Amberdeep is one director-actor who is known for his attention to the details, but this film is clearly missing his signature touch.

Amberdeep also plays the protagonist and he does a reasonably decent job. Although, he could work on reducing the motor speed of his dialogues. The most interesting character in Bhajjo Veero Ve is undoubtedly Gugu Gill. Gugu has a charisma and attitude, which the director has captured pretty well.

As far as Hobby Dhaliwal and Nirmal Rishi are concerned, giving them that Pinglish touch does nothing to their characters; in fact, it makes them far more un-relatable.

Hardeep Gill is a fine actor and he proves it yet again, although his character neither evokes sympathy nor comedy. The director has carried his imaginary family a tad too far. It is a pleasant change to Simi Chahal in western outfits. However, the director could have made better use of this fine actress, which is giving her more screen space because one virtually forgets about her in the second half. Amberdeep could have made good use of Yaad Grewal as well.

The film has robust music which goes with the story given by Jatinder Shah.
