It’s a film that has five women; it’s a film that addresses the issue of harassment, Hard Kaur is a film where the script is the real hero. “The script of the film is akin to a woman’s everyday experience,” says Drishtii Grewal, who plays an advocate in upcoming Punjabi film Hard Kaur.

“It’s a film that raises valid questions as to why women do not get their due,” shares Neet Kaur, who debuts with this film.

Both of them fought resistance from their families to pursue their passion — acting. While Drishtii duly did the rather ‘safe’ bank job, followed by being part of the cabin crew in an international airline; Neet finished her masters in business administration before they ventured into Pollywood.

Clear take

With Critics Choice Award for Best Actress for her role in Mitti Na Phrol Jogiya, Drishtii insists, “Any field is challenging, but one puts the best if the field is of one’s choice.”

How difficult is it to carry on in Pollywood? “Very unstable field it is,” she admits for almost each new film launches a new actor or actress.” Casting couch? She insists that she never had to face it personally but is as present as in any other field. “Let’s not be sceptics, there are many production houses who value talent.”

This women-dominated courtroom drama seems to be on the lines of PINK. “No. There are more twists and turns,” insists the team!

Hard Kaur, directed by Ajit R Rajpal, releases on December 15.

Negative mode

Chaitanya Kanhai debuts with Hard Kaur. An out-and-out negative role, this painter, writer and assistant director shares, “I am from Vrindavan and have come across many goons, so I picked up from their mannerisms. What I have observed is that even the worst person will have one good quality; sad to say what I play has not even one redeeming quality!”
