‘Beauty is in everything’

Malaika Arora Khan, who was the showstopper for designer Anushree Reddy at the ongoing Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2018, said she is completely against the beauty standards set by the society.

“I am not for any kind of biases. Beauty is in everything. I feel there shouldn’t be any biases. I believe beauty lies in the eyes of a beholder. The beauty standards set by society are utterly wrong and in today’s day and age of media attention and focus one has to be a lot more aware and careful about it,” she said.

Malaika said she realised very early in her career that it impossible to please everyone and hence she believes in following her own rules when it comes to fashion.

“I started out in the entertainment industry very early. And I think I was lucky to get the platform to be the way I am or dress the way I am. I am really happy I had those opportunities. I realised it very early in my career that you can’t please everybody. Once I understood that I was confident a lot more. I am not someone who thinks too much,” she said.

Anushree’s collection titled Sitara was inspired by the romanticism and femininity of vibrant celebrations. It brought together sensual colours with delicate handcrafted three-dimensional applique fleur, butterflies, leaves and fictional characters.

‘Always hoped to get accepted’

Her rise in the movies as one of the best female actors of this generation and her sartorial fashion choices has made her a ramp favourite and Kangana Ranaut says as an aspiring actor she always had a vision that one day she will make it to the runway as a showstopper.

The 31-year-old actor, who played the role of a supermodel in Madhur Bhandarkar’s critically-acclaimed film Fashion, said as a kid the idea of walking the ramp always fascinated her and she used to practice it in front of the mirror.

The Rangoon actor walked the ramp for designers Pankaj and Nidhi.

Jacqueline walks for Ashish N Soni

Bollywood diva Jacqueline Fernandez set the ramp on fire as she walked for designer Ashish N Soni on day four of the ongoing Lakme Fashion Week.

The Race 3 star sashayed down the runway in two different looks. For Ashish N Soni’s show, the Tresemme brand ambassador exuded unabashed elegance with a one-shouldered tunic and complemented the look with minimal make-up and a retro hairdo.

Proving that she’s the ultimate queen of fashion, the Kick star also stunned in a black, single-shouldered gown with loose curls and bold red lipstick. —ANI

Neha shows her baby bump

Actress Neha Dhupia, who is expecting her first child with actor-husband Angad Bedi, showed off her baby bump while walking for designer Payal Singhal at the ongoing Lakme Fashion Week (LFW) Winter/Festive 2018.

She walked the ramp with her husband Angad for Singhal’s show titled The Showstopping Bride.

Neha said that it is a “memorable” moment for her.

“It’s been amazing to be on the ramp looking and feeling like this... A lot of people take a break and won’t come to work, but that’s not true,” Neha said.

Talking about Angad’s reaction to her pregnancy, Neha said: “His reaction was really amazing. He is going to make a rock solid father as he is a rock solid husband... I can’t wait to see him change diapers.” Angad, who looked dapper in an embellished sherwani, was happy to walk with Neha on the ramp. —IANS
