Drake’s making his way to the top and thriving there with his new song that was released this month, soon after God’s Plan debuted as number one on Billboard Hot 100. Drake’s new single Nice for What that was released by Young Money Entertainment and Cash Money Records on April 6 peaked the charts again. It serves as the lead single to Drake's fifth studio album, Scorpion (2018). The song was produced by Murda Beatz with co-production handled by Blaqnmild, and features additional vocals by Big Freedia and 5th Ward Weebie. It debuted at number one on the US Billboard Hot 100, replacing Drake's own God's Plan and becoming his fifth US number one. It also debuted atop the UK Singles Chart, becoming his second number-one song of 2018 in the country after God's Plan.

Star Power

Nice for What features actresses like Olivia Wilde, Zoe Saldana, Tiffany Haddish, breakout Black Panther star Letitia Wright, Michelle Rodriguez, Insecure's Issa Rae, Black-ish's Tracee Ellis Ross, Rashida Jones and Emma Roberts – as well as singer Syd, ballet star Misty Copeland and Drake himself – dancing along with the new track in the Karena Evans-directed video.

They were followed by two mixtapes, the trap-influenced If You're Reading This It's Too Late, and collaboration with Future for What a Time to Be Alive, in 2015. Drake released his fourth album, Views, in 2016. The single Hotline Bling secured him his second and third Grammy win, for Best Rap/Sung Performance and Best Rap Song, at the organization's 59th ceremony.

Drake released the multi-genre More Life in 2017.

Drake also acts as a producer, producing under the pseudonym of Champagne Papi.

Voice of the people

Good one!

I really like the song. It’s quite interesting and the lyrics are good too.

Megha Thakur Bali, advocate

Starry starry sight

Combined with a vibrant video—featuring Tiffany Haddish, Tracee Ellis Ross, the Internet’s Syd, Letitia Wright, and a whole lot of other famous women—”Nice for What” adds up to what is one of Drake’s most complete releases in some time. It’s hip-hop spectacle at its very best: pure fun and star power.

Jasjeet Singh, businessperson

Sing along

While “Nice for What” has Drake doing Drake things—sh*t-talking, goofy flirting, and sad-sacking—there’s a notable lightness in his step, a clarity in his voice. I love this song!
