Rani Mukerji wins without a hiccup

Rani Mukerji, who was at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne, has won the Best Actress Award for Hichki and also the Excellence in Cinema award.

Rani Mukerji, who was at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne, has won the Best Actress Award for Hichki and also the Excellence in Cinema award. 

The actress says, “I feel blessed. Hichki was a special film because it was made to raise awareness about Tourette’s. Now that it has won an award, many more people will want to see it; ones who have not yet watched it.”

The Best Film Award went to Sanju and Best Director was given to Rajkumar Hirani. Vicky Kaushal was awarded with Best Supporting Actor for Sanju, while Manoj Bajpayee received Best Actor Award for Gali Guleiyan. Vicky, who was the assistant director for Manoj Bajpayee’s Gangs of Wasseypur, was excited to share the stage with the senior actor. Vicky expressed his joy on Twitter and wrote, “I was an AD giving claps for scenes in GoW. Today, receiving an award along with @BajpayeeManoj Sir on the same platform of @IFFMelb ,this journey has only been possible because I got to observe and learn from fine actors like him. Thank You Sardar Khan!”
