Shivangi Joshi, who is a part of popular television show Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, talks about the new track in the show

Are you ready to play a mother on screen at such a young age?

It is my character that is maturing on to the next level in her life and not me as Shivangi! As an actor, my sole responsibility is to go with what is planned by the makers. I would have no apprehensions in doing anything that my character demands of me.

How will you prepare to play a mother on screen?

I have two younger siblings and have seen my mother handling them. Since my mother lives with me in Mumbai, I will definitely take some cues from her as well. Sometime ago in the show, we did have a sequence with a small baby and that time too, my mother was around and told me how to hold a small baby et al. I am looking forward to the experience.

What is your take on ‘motherhood’ in general?

I feel it is a blessing for all women to become mothers. It is a beautiful feeling to bring a child into the world.

How has your relationship with your on screen husband, Mohsin Khan, evolved over time?

We have always gotten along with each other since day one of shooting with each other. There has been no awkwardness ever. We were friends before we started seeing each other, so there is definitely a well-established bond and a great comfort level.

Is marriage on the cards?

I do not think that is happening for a while. Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai is just the beginning for me.
