In your new show, Jio Dhan Dhana

Dhan, was it a challenge mixing comedy with cricket?

It’s all got to do with cricket! If we come across an incident related to cricket, we Google it and improvise. Timing really doesn’t matter but at the same time, many cricketers are there to surprise us. We always have this curiosity as to how the cricketers would react to our humour and comedy.

How is it working with legendary cricketer Kapil Dev?

Kapil sir has clean bowled us! He is not only a legend in terms of cricket but also in comedy. His one-liners are amazing and superb. The way he allows us to crack jokes with him is amazing. I grew up seeing and hearing Mr Kapil Dev and Mr Gavaskar. For me, they are like superheroes!

What is the best compliment you have got so far for this show?

The feedback from people has been amazing. The best part is that every day there is a different character that I play.

Did you expect such a response?

No, never!

What are the various types of reactions that you get for your work?

People ask me, Sir aap itne serious kyun ho. They can’t believe that I am the same person who makes them laugh on screen. There are different fan reactions to different type of work. There are some senior people who watch us and appreciate, and that really feels good.

Who inspires you?

Mehmood saab. I keep watching his films; and if talking about this generation, Aamir Khan. I must have seen PK a hundred times and no one can do it better than him.
