As many as 300 cooks are set to create sumptuous dishes for the marriage of comedian Kapil Sharma with Jalandhar-based Ginni Chatrath at Cabbana Resorts on December 12.

Japanese, Thai, Lebanese, Italian, Continental and European cuisine, besides platters from Awadh, Kashmir, Hyderabad, Meerut and Mathura; it is set to be a grand affair. But Amritsar’s traditional food, including kulcha chana, is missing from the list of items planned for the baraatis.

There will be counters for French cafe, bakery items, dimsums, exotic fruits, besides a chaat street, and two especially created restaurants with Hyderabadi and Continental food. A Mathura milk bar, Japanese and Thai live concept, and Food on Wheels will be an added attraction.

Dessert dash

As many as least 25 desserts, 25 assorted breads and seven types of curd mixtures have been planned. Desserts will have mouth-watering Lauki akhrot ki kheer, Zauq-e-Shahi (gulab jamuns dipped in rabri) and apple pie. Kandhari naan, mirchi and lasun parantha and Meerut roti will be the specialties in breads.

Main course will have delicacies ranging from vegetarian food items, like Paan ki khumb, Bhatti ka paneer, Cottage cheese Hunan style, cheese and jalapeno rolls, Tofu and Miso, Paneer Ali Pasha and Tandoori broccoli to a long list of non-vegetarian items, including Barbecue fish, Methi fish tikka, Lahori chicken, Murg Awadhi, Mogewala kukkad and Murg Birbali kebab. There are special arrangements for Bacchus lovers too.

Guest list

Neither the family nor the management at the resort have so far shared any list of guests arriving at the event. Salman Khan may not turn up, but his brother Sohail Khan is expected on the wedding day. Gurdas Maan has been booked for the occasion while some comedians associated with Kapil are set to perform as well. The families of Kapil and Ginni have arranged for 200 bouncers, including 50 females, to keep unwanted guests and gate-crashers at bay.
