The team joins the captain

Looks like the makers of Kapil Dev’s biopic   ’83 are completely occupied with the film’s casting and are signing actors back to back. After South star Jiiva, Tahir Raj Bhasin and Sunny Kaushal amongst others, the latest addition to the team is Saqib Saleem. The actor is expected to essay the character of cricketer Mohinder Amarnath. The preparations for the team of ’83 will be extensive, considering that all actors will be essaying the role of real life cricketers. 

Interestingly, this will be the second time that Saqib Saleem will play the role of a cricketer. Earlier, he was seen as a star cricketer in the movie Dishoom. However, in that film he didn’t have much scenes of cricket. But ’83 will be a completely different film as it is a biopic on India’s historic win of 1983 World Cup. With Ranveer Singh playing captain Kapil Dev, the film is expected to be shot at varied locations including England. Although makers are yet to make an official announcement, a source close to Saqib confirmed the developments.
