Content is king
Shweta Mahadik
As actors, it is our responsibility to inform, educate and entertain people in the right way. Personally, I enjoy television and have grown up watching it. Over the years, television has evolved a lot. The content is the king today.
Black & white

I belong to black and white era of TV. It used to be a luxury to watch TV, forget about owning one! The most memorable part was the Doordarshan logo and if I am not mistaken, it used to start at around six in evening. My favourite was Star Trek.

I have grown up viewing shows like Dekh Bhai Dekh, Sarabhai vs Sarabhai and other sitcoms, which would draw us to our television sets every day. I work for television and have witnessed the kind of love TV actors get. It’s a surreal feeling.

One of my first memories when the TV set came to my house was watching Zee Horror Show. My cousins and I used to watch that show. Then Cartoon Network came! Now, there is much more content with the advent of web series.
Charming days

I still remember the first TV we had at our home. There was a huge antenna on the terrace and that was connected to the TV. After cable TV network arrived, there was a major change in the TV culture. I believe that every platform has an audience, be it plays, movies, television or web.
