Pageant Sparkles Production has come up with the second season of Ms & Mrs Punjab –Discover Yourself 2019. And mind you this time they celebrate women in all forms. As long as you are a confident woman, why bother with the statistics of age, height, weight and marital status to take part in the pageant?

Pollywood actress Japji Khaira, who unveiled the pageant’s format, expressed her idea of beauty is being comfortable in what nature has given us. Japji made her debut in Pollywood after winning the title of Miss World Punjaban 2006 and she has her share of success, both in pageants and movies.

On what has changed in beauty pageants after more than a decade, she quips, “In my time, we had more of traditional approach to the pageants. I remember out of various eligibility criteria for competing, one was the hair length and that had to be long. Also, we only got to wear traditional attire back then but now all kinds of rounds are there in which you get to wear both modern and ethnic dresses.”

Adds the actress, “I am privileged to be part of the event, which is going to be organised on such a large scale, across tricity and Punjab. The platform will provide a wonderful opportunity to young girls and married women to showcase their potential in front of the world.”

On the personal front, the actress confesses that she unwinds by connecting to God and visits gurdwara whenever she can. Also, she says she is thankful to God for whatever she has achieved till now. She reads self-help books and The Alchemist is one of her favourites.

Japji, who will be the face of the event this year, will serve as an inspiration to the women of Punjab who wish to make it big in the glamour industry. Japji’s only message to Punjabans out there is ‘Be confident and just have fun during the competition’.

Get going
