50 years ago, on July 20, 1969, millions of people around the world witnessed a trio of astronauts – Neil Armstrong, Edwin Aldrin and Michael Collin - create history as they became the first men to step on the moon. Celebrating this Golden Jubilee of landing on moon, Sony BBC Earth will premiere a special docu-series titled 8 Days: To the Moon and Back. Eight days, three hours, 18 minutes, 35 seconds - that’s the total duration of one of the most dangerous and magnificent space missions - Apollo 11. The docu-series uses cutting-edge digital effects and dramatized performances to create a stunning 21st century visual journey.

Not just this series, viewers can also watch a specially curated line-up of two more shows on Saturday, July 20 on Sony BBC Earth. These include 21st Century Race for Space which explores the past, present and future of space flight as the team meets the key players from NASA. The other one Wonders of the Moon explores a stunning medley of lunar delights from across the globe.
