Fearing trolls, Sania Mirza takes time ''off’ social media ahead of India-Pak match

CHANDIGARH: Here is the ugly side to the vicious trolling on the social media. Tennis star Sania Mirza announced on Twitter that she is taking `off’ from the social media for the next 24 hours as arch rivals India and Pakistan clash in the Asia cup in Dubai on Wednesday.

Here is the ugly side to the vicious trolling on the social media. Tennis star Sania Mirza announced on Twitter that she is taking 'off’ from the social media for the next 24 hours as arch rivals India and Pakistan clash in the Asia cup in Dubai on Wednesday.

Sania is married to Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik who is part of the team that will take on India in the tournament. Sania got married to the cricketer in 2010 and has been at the receving end of the trolls on number of occasions whenever the two teams are pitted against each other.

Taking to twitter Sania announced.

The two teams are taking on each other after a gap of several months with the last contest taking place during the Champions trophy finals. Though Indian captain Virat Kohli will not be playing in the Asia cup but the India Pak contest, as expected, has already created a lot of buzz.

In order to avoid trolls, Indian tennis star, Sania Mirza has decided to sign out from all her social media accounts for at least the next 24 hours.
