Actress Amrita Rao, who is known for movies like Main Hoon Na and Vivah, was also seen on TV in the show Meri Awaaz Hi Pehchaan Hai. The actress has now turned a fashion advisor and is giving creative inputs to fashion brand, Flowery. Amrita spoke to us about her favourite medium, her take on web series, what fashion means to her and much more…

You’ve worked in movies and TV. Which medium do you like more?

Both mediums give me a different kick. It’s difficult to say which one is better. Because I am a film actress I had the benefit of many luxuries on a TV set. My work hours were also lesser than the standard. TV is definitely way more difficult than doing a film.

What’s your take on the fast growing digital medium?

Well, it’s amazing because you can connect with your audience like never before. Your popularity can actually be measured to an extent. But it also has a flip side. An overdose of the medium is rampantly causing depression stress and anxiety among the youth. They want to live a superficial life to look enviable on the medium.I urge the youth to maintain a balanced diet of social media in their life!

If offered, would you be interested in working in a web series?

Of course; why not? It would help me connect with a massive audience who no longer watches TV. Their constant groping for entertainment on handsets gives them an opportunity to explore new kind of content. I would love to do a suspense thriller in a web series.

What does fashion mean to you?

Fashion to me is a trend that is ever-changing, so I prefer to customise it and adopt it only if it suits my physicality and personality. For me, comfort comes first and fashion comes later.

Share your experience as a creative advisor of Flowery.

I have given some creative references and ideas to the fashion brand. We have worked to bring a visual quotient to the title Flowery. This would help audience register the brand name in their mind. I suggested all photo must have a hint of flowers in them. You will see me either holding a bunch of flowers or posing in front of a backdrop of flowers. to help customers relate  with the name.
