‘Catch them young’ seems to be the objective behind the endeavour of North-Zone Cultural Centre Patiala, which is organising the first-ever NZCC Sangeet Milan Utsav from July 12 at Tagore theatre. 

The three-day Utsav is all set to stage live performances of 19 prodigious artistes – winners, runner-up or special awardees of the National Music Contest- 2017 conducted by the Sangeet Milon Classical Voice of India, Lucknow. 

Some of them have won national contests in respective categories and are national scholarship holders from Ministry of Culture.  Atharva, for instance, is a winner of six national contests, part of a team which holds the World Record in Relay Singing at Mumbai.

“The unique festival is expected to create awakening among the younger generation to imbibe the best of classical music traditions given to us by our ancestral musicologists,” says Saubhagya Vardhan.

The three-day festival has been designed to showcase performances of artists in three categories as detailed under.

Bal Sangeet Utsav: 

July 12

The participating artistes include Pritha Mukherjee (Mumbai), Jayantika Dey (Varanasi), Sahil Vishe (Mumbai), Vishnu Saini (Dehradun), Atharva Onkar Vairagkar (Nashik), Saubhagya Mohapatra (Delhi) and Vaghisha Pande (Varanasi).

Tarun Sangeet Utsav: 

July 13

Artistes wh will be performing are Dhruv Sharma (Chandigarh) , Vasu Gandharva (Raipur), Nishad Harlapur (Shimoga), Upasna Dey (Siliguri), Nishit Gangani (Delhi) and Swapnil Kulkarni (Pune) .

Yuva Sangeet Utsav: 

July 14

Shruti Patil (Mumbai), Sourjavo Chakraborty (Kolkatta), Roudraswa Rakshit (Kolkatta), Naushad Harlapur (Shimoga) and Bineet Singh (Delhi).

All performances will start at 6.30 pm at Tagore Theatre-18
