Being a perfectly dressed bride is every woman’s dream come true. It takes a lot of time and effort for her to choose the right attire with the matching jewellery and getting a flawless skin, which further enhances the makeup she wears to get the look on point!

Let’s go through the problems a bride usually faces while choosing the right designer, makeup artist, jewellery etc, but can be avoided if guided right...

Her choice of attire

Usually the brides go through all the pictures accessible to her on the social media to choose her outfit. This is a good idea but only to the extent of

getting acquainted with the different styles and trends of the season. The best way to choose the wedding attire is by firstly short listing the designers or shops according to your budget and then trying the styles that would flatter your facial complexion, body shape and style.

Always try the shade of your outfit in broad daylight in case you have a morning wedding and vice versa. Wear shades that enhance your natural skin tone. Do not wear styles that reveal your flaws such as bad skin or bulges, if any. Do not blindly follow what the celebs are wearing just because it’s the trending look. Instead, if you’ve chosen a designer, let him/her guide you.

Choosing the right makeup artist

This could be a tricky one! Every bride goes through the works of several makeup artists listed on different portals and according to their budget and makeup artist’s availability, shortlist a few and talk to them. If they’ve shortlisted two makeup artists and one is charging less, they usually go to the second one, even if it means compromising the makeup look by using low quality products. Now here’s the problem. If you have no knowledge of makeup you must always go to the best. Here’s how you should choose the right artist for yourself. Call the shortlisted makeup artists and fix an appointment for a discussion about the kind of look you want. A good makeup artist will be able to address all your concerns honestly and shall guide you with the kind of look you should go for. You must take a note of the guidelines they give you and choose the artist you feel is the best. Every makeup artist has his/her own style and you must always go with the one you can relate your style with and feel the most comfortable talking to.

Choosing the right skin care products and regime

Do not experiment with your facial skin at least two months prior to your functions. Go in for facials or cleansings only if it suits your skin and you have been getting it done previously. If you have a problematic skin, you must visit a good dermatologist/cosmetologist instead of experimenting with homemade remedies and in some cases, making your skin worse. Eat healthy, sleep for 6-8 hours and workout five days a week to have a glowing skin.

Choosing the right jewellery

The colours and styles you choose to wear in the jewellery should complement your attire and enhance your complexion. If you have a broad forehead, you must choose a matha patti or a tikka. If your face is small, you can wear a passa instead of a tikka. If you have the ancestral jewellery already on your plate, then you must choose the outfit accordingly. Ask the designer to suggest an outfit which matches the jewellery you choose to wear.

What did all the brides learn here?

Trust the professionals! This is what all they charge you for, i.e. their talent, knowledge and experience. Think and spend wisely so you don’t repent your decision. Save money, but only at all the right places. Never compromise on your wedding look. Those are once in a lifetime moments. After all, which bride doesn’t want to look like a glam queen straight out of the movies, out there to woo her man?
