Nikkesha aka Nikki Kaur, which means little princess, wanted to be a dancer at first. She got into musical theatre in school and then joined a dance school. At the age of thirteen she was already training to be a dance teacher and she pulled it off when she turned 15 and started teaching at Rangeela Dance School in Vancouver. She says this helped her to stay creative all this while and fuelled her passion to train, travel and pursue acting courses. After getting trained in acting from John Casablancas, Vancouver Film School and eventually Roshan Taneja Acting Classes, she was featured in various advertisements. She was part of the web series, Haqse. Many of you can easily recognise her from R-Nait’s song, Struggler, which has been a hit this year.

Your first assignment

It was for Sangam auto body shop in Surrey which was owned by my friend’s father. I had to act as if I had an accident when I actually didn’t even have a licence.

Most interesting shoot so far

Haqse that aired on ALTBalaji because it was an ensemble cast comprising mainly women. We had a good time on the sets too.

Your big break

I considered Dabur commercial to be my big break as I was directed by Pradeep Sarkar and I am a fan of his movies. Later, I did an advertisement with L’oreal.

Designer you wish to walk for...

I would like to walk for Sabyasachi Mukherji.

Fashion tip for youngsters...

Be yourself and be comfortable. Your inner happiness is the key to a confident body language.

If not a model-actor, then...

Probably a teacher. Maybe have my own play school.

Style that you are gung-ho about

Now-a-days, it is bell bottoms. I’m so glad that they are back.

Your health quotient?

Balanced diet. I eat everything but in right proportions.

An outfit for a perfect date...

I will wear a red dress with a pair of sneakers. I love red.

Exotic place you would like to go on a date

Hawaii or Bora Bora Island.

Wardrobe must-haves...

A black well-fitted dress.

Casual pick in clothing?

Jeans and tank tops or sweatpants.
