None of the Punjabi women writers had elicited as much love and affection of readers and art lovers as Amrita Pritam whose life and literature merged into one.

Much has been written about her life and her literary works. A feature film was made based n her novel Pinjar.

“Inspired by the iconic Amrita Pritam, acclaimed theatre person Teekam Joshi and I have teamed up and sculpted a play titled, Agg Di Ik Baat Hai (Hindi). We have attempted to capture Pritam’s creative journey through her poetry and some incidents from her autobiography,” shares Dr Navdeep Kaur, a theatre person, administrator and teacher.

Teekam Joshi and Dr Kaur will enact the play duly supported by a technical team. The play is scheduled to be held at Randhawa Auditorium, Punjab Kala Bhavan Today at 6.30 pm. —TNS
