Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone’s wedding has been the talk of the town for weeks now. After tying the knot in two traditional ceremonies in Italy, the newlyweds are now back in India. With colour coordinated attires and matching footwear, the couple landed in Mumbai on Sunday morning. Deepika was looking every bit of an Indian bahu with sindoor, chooda and mangalsutra. The much in love couple looked adorable together. DeepVeer’s wedding yet again proves that in B-town, there’s a special connect between South and North as there are several South Indian actresses who have married North Indian actors. Let’s take a look at a few of such B-town couples whose wedding is an amalgamation of two states.

One way or the other: Shetty and Kundra

Shilpa Shetty, who is from South, married Punjabi munda Raj Kundra. The wedding ceremony took place according to the Mangalorean traditions. Today, they are together, much in love, successful business partners and also the proud parents of their son, Viaan Raj Kundra.

Happily ever after: Balan and Kapur

Just like DeepVeer, Vidya Balan and Siddharth Roy Kapur married in two different traditional ceremonies. One South Indian style for Vidya’s side and other a Punjabi one for Siddharth. The two are happily married now and are often seen making media appearances together.

Traditionally speaking: Rai and Bachchan

Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan are Bollywood’s most adorable couple. The two tied the knot in traditional South Indian style for which Aishwarya Rai chose a gold kanjeevaram saree. Even after 11 years of marriage the couple gives us major couple goals.

Destined for down south: Alva and Oberoi

If reports are to be believed, Vivek Oberoi was dating Aishwarya Rai before he tied the knot with Priyanka Alva, daughter of Karnataka minister Jeevaraj Alva. Looks like he was destined to marry a South Indian, if not Rai then Alva. Interestingly, the actor is doing good in South Indian films too!

Stereotypically apart: Malini and Deol

Both Hema Malini & Dharmendra rarely talk about their marriage. Though it was a hush-hush affair since Dharmendra was already married but till date, we see them together for all family occasions. Theirs  is the classic example of South weds North.

Half Tamil, Punjabi and Sindhi! Deol and Takhtani

Esha Deol is half Tamil & half Punjabi. She tied the knot with businessman Bharat Takhtani who is a Sindhi. Esha and Bharat’s wedding was a gala affair with who’s who of B-town present at their wedding. It was a four-day affair with functions like sangeet, mehndi, traditional Tamilian wedding and a reception.
