Bollywood’s Dream Girl Hema Malini turned 69 on October 16. And the occasion was a best fit to launch her biography, Beyond the Dream Girl. Penned by journalist-turned-writer Ram Kamal Mukherjee, the book chronicles the journey of veteran actress-turned-BJP parliamentarian, and contains a short foreword drafted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself.

The book launch event took place in Mumbai on Monday evening. The event was star-studded with the who’s who of Bollywood present to celebrate the success of Hema Malini’s rise in cinema.

The launch was carried out by Deepika Padukone, who looked gorgeous in a traditional red saree with gold jewellery. Hema’s daughters, Esha and Aahana, with their respective spouses, were also present. Esha looked adorable with her cute baby bump in a pastel coloured dress. Filmmaker Ramesh Sippy and Subhash Ghai were also seen congratulating Hema. At the event, Deepika Padukone read out a letter by Pamela Chopra, wife of late filmmaker Yash Chopra, who directed Hema Malini in many hit films.

Pamela showered praise on Hema Malini’s beauty and the way she conducted her career wrote, “You are pristine and in your long career, you always showed grace and dignity; something very few actresses have.”
