Did you always want to become

a singer?

Yes; and I am the luckiest person that my parents were very supportive about it. When I decided to sing, I wanted to sing internationally and create my image worldwide.

Does judging such reality shows help you creatively?

The fact that the show is live is what appeals to me. If we go wrong, we do not get a second chance.  We have to be alert and particular about what we say. It has a certain level of thrill to it. I also get to learn a lot from the great panel of musicians associated with the show.

Singing or judging, what according to you is more difficult?

To sit there on the expert’s chair and judge a contestant is more difficult. Pointing out flaws in someone’s singing is very difficult. I will, any day, prefer singing over judging.

When will you showcase your acting talent?

My upcoming music video will have me dancing and singing! Wait and watch

Where did you learn dance from?

I have been dancing since my childhood. I have learnt Bharatnatyam during my school days, after that I got into western form of dancing. I did Hip Hop as well. When I came to Mumbai, I learnt the Latin-American dance also.

What kind of music do you like?

I love all kinds of music from across the globe.

What is your beauty secret?

For me, you are beautiful when you are happy.

How is your rapport with DIljit Dosanjh and Shankar Mahadevan?

We share a great bond and connect with each other on the show.

What do you miss the most about Kolkata?

I miss Kolkata, in general, but what I miss the most is its amazing street food. When I was a kid, I used to binge on a lot of street food there.  Since the time I have shifted to Mumbai, I have not had a chance to taste Kolkata’s street food.

Are you a fitness freak?

Due to my hectic schedule, I like keeping myself fit.
