The Department of Water Supply and Sanitation, Government of Punjab, under creative competitions is inviting applications for various contests, i.e., slogan writing competition, audio jingle making competition, digital poster making competition, short video film making competition and video making competition for whatsapp. The theme of the competition is Ill effects of Open Defecation and Build and use toilets. 

Eligibility: The competition is open for all.

How to apply: Entries can be made via email to dspunjab@yahoo.com and can also be mailed at Head Department of Water Supply and Sanitation, Phase 2, Water Works Complex, Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, Mohali, Punjab. 

Details: Winners of slogan writing competition will receive up to Rs 10,000, audio jingle makers will receive up to Rs 35,000, digital poster makers will receive up to Rs 50,000, short film makers will receive up to Rs 3,00,000 and winners of video making competition for whatsapp will get up to Rs 50,000.

Scholarship for cancer survivors and their wards 

To help families who are facing financial crisis pertaining to expensive and prolonged cancer treatment, YouWeCan Foundation is providing monetary aid to educate children of the immediate family member under this scholarship.

Eligibility: Applications are invited from students all across India who is studying in Class 1 to XII, graduation, PG, diploma, ITI from any board, UGC recognised university or institute. Applications are sought from students whose immediate family has fought with cancer in the past or whose family member is currently going through cancer treatment. Students who have lost their parents due to cancer can also apply. The family income of the candidate must not exceed Rs 4 lakh p.a.The applicant must not be availing any other scholarship more than Rs 6000.

Details: Candidates of school level will receive Rs 15,000 p.a. and Rs 30,000 p.a. will be provided at graduation and post- graduation level. The scholarship will be initially for two years, but candidate can apply again, after meeting the necessary criterion at graduation level.

INSPIRE Fellowship 

The Ministry of Science & Technology each year announces Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research (INSPIRE) to attract students to pursue doctoral degree in basic and applied sciences- engineering, medicine, agriculture, veterinary, pharmacy, etc. and to strengthen the National Science and Technology base.

Eligibility: Candidates who are first position holders in post- graduate degrees in Basic & Applied Sciences or graduate degree in Engineering Sciences, Medical Sciences, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Agricultural Sciences or Veterinary Sciences from any recognized University or Institute. INSPIRE Scholar who has secured minimum 65 per cent marks or 6.5/10 CGPA in aggregate at M.Sc. or Integrated M.S. or M.Sc. Course is also eligible to apply.

Details:Scholars will receive HRA, medical and other allowances.
