The Jalandhar rural police have arrested a person with 500 gm of heroin and recovered a Honda Amaze car in which he was travelling in.

Jagtar Singh of Meonwal village in Phillaur was stopped on the basis of suspicion by police personnel from the Patara police station at Ucha Pind in Adampur.

On checking, the drugs were recovered from his car. The 23-year-old has been reportedly working as an electrician in Phillaur. He has told the police that he had got the heroin from a Nigerian in Delhi and was selling it in various areas of the city in smaller quantities. His father Pargan Ram too has a case registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985, against him and is lodged in a jail in Delhi.
