Youth booked for abducting girl

PHAGWARA: On a complaint lodged by Vargana Khaton, a native of Bihar and at present residing in the Banga Road area, the police have registered a case under Sections 363 and 366-A of the IPC against a youth from Bihar, Bhambloo Dishan, on the charge of abducting the minor daughter of the complainant on the pretext of marrying her.

Scooter stolen from hospital

Phagwara: An Activa scooter of a resident was found stolen here on Thursday night. The victim, Amarjit Singh of nearby Sunran Rajputan village, said he went to the Civil Hospital after parking the scooter outside the hospital and found it stolen when he returned to the place. A case under Section 379 of the IPC has been registered. OC

Jalandhar: Philanthropist and Alliance Club member Surinder Mittal observed the death anniversary of his father by donating a wheelchair and other household goods to Guru Nanak Vridh Ashram, Sahni, near here, on Friday. Alliance Club International District 126-NK vice-governor Jatinder Singh Kundi, club members Vipin Handa, Ranjit Malhan, Sunil Bedi and Ajay Bhagat were also present. OC
