Jalandhar, October 14

The youngest Mt Everest climber, Poorna Malavath, shared her experiences at the 17th Ambedkar Cultural Mela organised by Ambedkar Mission Society here today.

Hailing from Telangana, she had come along with the chief guest of the event, Dr RS Paveen Kumar, an IPS officer, whom she considers her mentor.

The teenage girl shared her experiences on reaching the highest mountain peak at an age of 13 in May 2014.

She told the girls, “Nothing is unachievable for us. If I could make it, so can you. It is just hard work and dedication that is required to achieve a goal. I, too, worked for eight months, took strenuous training to ultimately achieve the goal.” — TNS
