Woman’s body found in temple pond

JALANDHAR: An aged woman’s body was found floating in the pond of the Devi Talab temple here this morning.

An aged woman’s body was found floating in the pond of the Devi Talab temple here this morning. The deceased was identified as Enna Khanna (60), a resident of Lamha Mohalla here.

As per the police, the woman was missing since Wednesday and her family members were searching for him. Her son Ankur Khanna had also filed her missing complaint in the police station concerned.

After the temple authorities informed the police about the incident, the body was taken out by the police division No. 8 cops with the help of swimmers.

Meanwhile, the police called family members of the deceased for identification of the body.

As per the family members of the deceased, the woman had come from the USA about three days ago. Yesterday, she had gone to pay her obeisance at the temple, but she did not return.

Since the family ruled out any foul play behind the incident, the police division No. 8 initiated inquest proceedings under Section 174 of the CrPC. — TNS
