Woman ends her life, paramour booked

Harassed by her lover, Geeta, a resident of Patel Nagar locality, reportedly committed suicide by hanging herself with the ceiling fan at her residence in Patel Nagar locality here last night.

Vijay Kanwar, SHO (city), said the victim was a widow. She had an extramarital affair with Dharmendera, a resident of Hoshiarpur.

On a complaint filed by Rajesh Kumar, the brother of the deceased, the police have registered a case under Section 306 of the IPC against Dharmendera on the charge of abetment to suicide.

The police handed over the body to the family of the victim after autopsy that was conducted at the Civil Hospital here today.
