Woman decamps with gold ornaments, cash

PHAGWARA: Gold ornaments worth Rs 4 lakh and Rs 3 lakh in cash were stolen by an unidentified woman from the house of Dr Des Raj Kalsi, a resident of Chahal Nagar locality, on Wednesday.

Gold ornaments worth Rs 4 lakh and Rs 3 lakh in cash were stolen by an unidentified woman from the house of Dr Des Raj Kalsi, a resident of Chahal Nagar locality, on Wednesday.

Station House Officer (SHO), City, Phagwara, Kanwar Vijay said: “After scanning a CCTV camera footage, it came to light that a woman entered the house after breaking the locks of a room and decamped with the valuables.”

Occupants of the house were away during the incident.

The Station House Officer stated that a neighbour said an unidentified woman came to her house asking to subscribe a newspaper, but she refused.

The Station House Officer said the same woman was seen entering the house of the victim in the CCTV camera footage.

The police have registered a case in this regard and are investigating the matter.
