Members of Sikh Sewak Society International has raised questions before the Shiromani Akali Dal leadership asking as to why the party is rejoicing despite its poor 2/10 score in the state by winning just two out of its 10 seats.

President of the society Parminder Pal Singh Khalsa has pointed out that even as the SAD had a poor pass percentage of just 20 per cent in the state, Harsimrat Badal, wife of SAD chief Sukhbir Badal, was seen distributing ladoos and performing gidda in Bathinda after the poll results.

Khalsa said the party should ideally be delving on the poor performance as reasons of its defeat in eight of the 10 Lok Sabha seats in its kitty in the state despite PM Narendra Modi’s wave across the country. He said the SAD’s result has fallen from four last time to only two. In all, the SAD-BJP alliance has got only four seats in Punjab with two coming from the BJP and there was nothing to feel so excited about, he said.
