To provide a sense of security to voters at all vulnerable polling booths in the Assembly elections 2017, the district and the police administration has launched a special campaign to encourage voters to use their right of franchise without any fear or influence.
To begin this drive, District Election Officer Kamal Kishor Yadav and Police Commissioner Arpit Shukla today jointly visited vulnerable booths in Boota village, Deep Nagar, Basti Peer Daad and Bhargo camp. Addressing the people at various places in the city, Yadav said all vulnerable polling booths would be covered with CCTVs, web casting and guided by para military forces. Besides, at the initial stage before polling, police officials would regularly visit all vulnerable polling booths.
Police Commissioner Arpit Shukla said the department had launched a Whatsapp no 88723-23645 to file any complaint regarding the election. A landline number 0181-2452446 and an email address electioncontrolroom@jalandharpolice.com has also been established for people to complaint in connection with the elections. DEO and Police commissioner also visited vulnerable booths to build direct rapport with the people. The police have also launched a Whatsapp number to file any election related complaint.
