Vishwakarma Day celebrated with fervour

Vishwakarma Day was celebrated with fervour here on Monday. Owners of factories performed the traditional puja along with their workers and paid obeisance to Lord Vishwakarma.

The factory workers cleaned the machines and tools and prayed for a boost in productivity and innovation. The day was celebrated by the Shri Vishwakarma Dhiman Sabha, Phagwara, at the Vishwakarma mandir on the local Banga Road.

Prominent industrialist Manjit Singh Ubhi was the chief guest on the occasion while industrialist Jasbir Singh Virdi hoisted the flag.

Additional Commissioner, Income Tax, Balwinder Kaur Marwaha was honoured with the Lord Vishwakarma Award and BR Dhiman was honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Shri Vishawkarma Dhiman Sabha headed by Balwant Rai Dhiman. Phagwara MLA Balwinder Singh Dhaliwal, former minister Joginder Singh Maan, the late Giani Zail Singh’s grandson Inderjit Singh and other prominent citizens said Lord Vishwakarma was the divine architect of the entire universe.
