Two held with motorcycle, cylinders, LCDs

The division number 6 police here have arrested two persons and recovered a motorcycle, two cylinders and two LCDs from them.

The accused were identified as Monty and Alraja, alias Raja, both residents of Santoshi Nagar, Jalandhar. They were arrested from their locality by a police team. One of the accused is at large.

A police official said on June 3, Anuj Mehandru, a resident of Cool Road and owner of SK Dhaba, registered a complaint regarding the looting of two LCDs and four commercial cylinders from his dhaba. Following the compliant, a case was registered under Sections 380/457 and the police were in search of the accused since then.

Meanwhile, on Saturday near Rama Mandi, both accused were arrested. There have already been a number of cases registered against Monty. In the robbery case, there was one more accused who accompanied Raja and Monty who is on the run, but will be caught soon as cops were tracing him, the police said.

The cylinders and LCDs were looted from SK Dhaba, while the bike was robbed from gate number 5 of the bus stand. The police said many items had been recovered, but they were still investigating the accused to find more items they had robbed in the past. — OC
