Nawanshahr: The Banga police seized 25 boxes of liquor from Karandeep Singh and Rahul on Frday and arrested them. The accused had got the bottles from Chandigarh. They were going to Amritsar when their car was spotted by the police in Banga.10 boxes of whiskey and 15 boxes of bear were recovered from them. A case under Sections 61,1 and 14 of the Excise Act has been registered in this regard. TNS

Mobile, banned pills seized

Hoshiarpur: The police have registered a case against two undertrials lodged in the Central Jail on the complaint of Assistant Jail Superintendent Avtar Krishna Saini posted in the Central Jail Hoshiarpur. Thirty five pills of the prohibited medicines were recovered from Fatehpur Talwara resident Vipan Singh. After returning from the court, a mobile phone was recovered from Roshandeen alias Suleman, a resident of district Chamba (HP). OC

Jalandhar: The Rural police have seized 150 tablets of Alprazolam from Avtar Singh alias Belo (27) and arrested him. The accused was arrested from Maqsudan. The accused is a resident of Gore Kotvali of Kapurthala. He was coming from Wariana side and was arrested at Maqsudan. A case under Sections 22,61and 85 of the NDPC Act has been registered against the accused. TNS
