Two arrested for murder

JALANDHAR: The city police on Monday arrested two accused in the murder case of Sukhjeet Singh of Jandiala village. The accused have been identified as Amarjeet and Pawan Kumar and the police have recovered two sharp-edged weapons with the help of which the crime was committed.

The city police on Monday arrested two accused in the murder case of Sukhjeet Singh of Jandiala village. The accused have been identified as Amarjeet and Pawan Kumar and the police have recovered two sharp-edged weapons with the help of which the crime was committed. The accused got arrested from Kangra in Himachal Pradesh.

ADCP-2 D Sudarvizhi, while addressing the media, said the deceased was earlier friend with the accused. Sukhjeet, Amarjeet and Rahul had attacked Sodhi of Bajuha Khurd on being asked by Mahinder Valaitiya in 2016, and the case against the trio was registered in the Nakodar police station.

The deceased Sukhjeet had then developed some differences with Amarjeet and Rahul.

“Later, Pawan, another friend of Amarjeet and Rahul, joined them and the trio killed Sukhjeet,” the police said.
