Three persons were killed in separate incidents here in the past 24 hours.

A Chachoki village resident, Varinder Kumar, was run over by Nanded-bound Sachkhand Express near the Mauli railway station on ther Phagwara-Goraya rail section. The deceased was going to ease himself on the railway tracks when the mishap occurred, the GRP said. A case has been registered by the GRP.

In the second incident, an unidentified person was found killed on a national highway in Phagwara after being hit by a speeding vehicle. The police have registered a case and kept the body for identification in a hospital mortuary after conducting the autopsy.

Meanwhile, in another incident, Imeal Topno drowned in a village pond in the nearby Nangal Majha village. The police have registered a case in this regard and sent the body to local Civil Hospital for the post-mortem examination. — OC
