Three booked under Anti-dowry Act

PHAGWARA: On a complaint filed by Naresh Rani, a resident of Bhularai village, the Sadar Police have booked her husband Narinder Kumar, a resident of Kahna Dhesian village, his younger brother, Roop Lal, and Bhabhi Balwinder Kaur, under Sections 498-A and 406 of the IPC on the charge of torturing her to bring more dowry.

On a complaint filed by Naresh Rani, a resident of Bhularai village, the Sadar Police have booked her husband Narinder Kumar, a resident of Kahna Dhesian village, his younger brother, Roop Lal, and Bhabhi Balwinder Kaur, under Sections 498-A and 406 of the IPC on the charge of torturing her to bring more dowry. The victim, mother of two children, told the police that she was married to Narinder Kumar on August 2, 2009.She was thrown out of her in-laws’ house on July 9, 2017. She knocked the doors of the Women Cell and succeeded to get a case registered. No arrest has been made so far in this regard.
