Jalandhar: Twenty-one students of DAV University, Jalandhar, have got job offers from renowned Multinational companies including —Wipro, TCS, Bajaj Allianz, Deftsoft, Metro Cash,Carry India and PIN Click. The vice-chancellor Dr RK Mahajan; registrar Dr Sushma Arya; and dean, academics, Dr Deshbhandu Gupta congratulated the students. He motivated the rest of the students to work hard for future placement drives. Students got job offers after clearing the online test and a personal round of interviews. TNS

Education Excellence Award

Jalandhar: Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya, has been awarded the prestigious, ‘ASSOCHAM Education Excellence Award’. The award is aimed at recognising the contribution of the institution in fostering affordable quality education and taking initiative for social responsibility and nurture an atmosphere of excellence. Principal Dr Ajay Sareen received the award from Suresh Prabhu, Minister of Commerce and Industry and Civil Aviation and Pranab Mukherji, former President of India. The award was given during the 12th ASSOCHAM National Education Summit 2019. The inaugural session was addressed by Minister for HRD, Govt of India, Prakash Javadekar. More than 200 dignitaries adorned the occasion. Principal Dr Ajay Sareen said Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya had become the first institution of Punjab and first women institution to receive this award. TNS 

World Day of Social Justice held 

Phagwara: The department of political science of Kamla Nehru College for Women, Phagwara, organised the World Day of Social Justice on its premises on Wednesday. Students expressed their views on social issues— unemployment, poverty and human rights. Two minutes silence was observed to pay tributes to the soldiers of the CRPF, who lay down their lives for the nation in Pulwama.  Principal of the college Dr Kiran Walia congratulated Dr Rinka, HoD of the department for organising the event.
